The Bellport Beach Pavilion remains closed due to severe erosion under the structure and attached walkway. Fire Island and Beyond has been covering the situation for the last few years, click here for some older stories.
Since officials blocked off access in Mid September, the dune under the walkway has continued to give way to the Ocean. The walkway has partially collapsed and has now dropped several feet from where it should attach to the main building.
Besides the walkway issue, the structure seems to be holding strong, it will be interesting to monitor if we get any storms in the coming months. The video above and images below were all taken Saturday September 29th around Noon.
