I finally got over to Bellport Beach on Sunday to see how the Marina and Pavilion held up over the winter.

On the Marina side, the permanent dock that leads to the floating dock (which is removed for the winter) has been lifted by the ice about 6 feet.

Ice has also toppled most of the poles on the east side.

Just to the East of the marina it looks like some overwash from the ocean made it into the bay with some fresh sand fanned out.

The main building/ snack bar looks fine.

On the walk over to the Ocean you have a clear look at the Ocean to the East as the dunes that once stood in the way are basically gone.  The pictures don’t do it justice but it is a dramatic change from a few years ago.
