Original story: The Suffolk County Department of Public Works will be performing mosquito control treatments Tuesday and Wednesday nights in parts of Fire Island.

The county’s Vector Control will be applying Anvil (sumithrin) treatments in Davis Park and Point O’Woods from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday night.

All the streets and boardwalks in the communities will be sprayed using a ground spray method. This is ultra low volume aerosol, according to the county.

The same method and treatment will be applied on all the streets and boardwalks in the Ocean Beach, Seaview and Ocean Bay Park communities Wednesday night.

That application will also run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
