After seeing some great Milky Way shots by the Long Island Sun Chasers last week I set my alarm for 4:30 a.m. this morning and headed for the East Side of Moriches Inlet hoping for some nice dark skies.  I had mild success and will post those images tomorrow.   I waited until Sunrise for a quick drone flight to get an overview of the recent shoaling on the East side of the inlet.

This is my third flight since March 18th and I think you can see that the sand that had been building inside the inlet is slowly dispersing.  I would guess that much of it will end up either on the bar outside the inlet or the channels inside.   Either way it is still going to make navigation sketchy.
