I checked out Moriches Inlet on Thursday after Nor’easter 4 pulled away about two hours after high tide.    The new sand building up inside the inlet didn’t seem to be much worse but water levels were still higher than normal due to the storm.

The only noticeable difference from last week is a big pocket of sand moved away from the jetty about half way down.

You can see how much the sand is moving around by checking out the images and video taken on March 18th after the Noreaster # 3.

Politicians have implored the Army Corp. Of Engineers to do some emergency dredging but Moriches Inlet is not considered a  high priority relative to channels that are used for commercial cargo.  If nothing happens it is going to a challenging boating season for mariners.
