The Long Island Sun Chasers once again did a fantastic job of showing Long Island at its summer best this week.

One notable change as the season wanes is the position of the sun, now moving south (in relation to Earth) at sunrise and rising out of the ocean once again.

With that in mind, this week’s cover shot from Ronnie Walker is a prime example.

The same holds true at sunset with the north shore opportunities at sunset dropping off depending on your position.

Going forward, look for more amazing south shore sunrises over the breaking surf and bays.

One of the highlights this week was the rising moon over the Fire Island Lighthouse.  Several Sun Chasers knew exactly where to position themselves and got some amazing images.

As always, if a particular image gets your attention and you want it printed or framed I can put you in touch with the photographer.

Have a great weekend and feel free to share with your friends that might be missing some of this!
