After a very warm February, many of us were tricked into thinking Winter was over.  March has proved everyone wrong with two damaging Nor’easters and another potential coastal storm coming tomorrow night.

I missed last week’s Best of the Long Island Sun Chasers due to the storm coverage and tried my best to cover two weeks of action below.  With over 4000 members now it is not getting easier but this group always knows how to capture Long Island no matter what the weather throws at it.  This week features the usual incredible skies at sunrise and sunset mixed in with amazing weather photos with destructive waves and flooding photos from all ends of the island.

Today also marks the start of Daylight Savings Time, giving us almost 12 hours of daylight and more time for to get positioned for 7:00 p.m. and later sunsets.  As you can see below, the sun angles at sunrise and sunset have moved north, making Fire Island and North Shore the best vantage points until Fall.

If any of the images below catch your attention, consider a print for your home or office- let me know and I can get you in touch with the photographer.

This week’s cover goes to Trish Minogue Collins with a perfectly timed surf shot.
