As August comes to a close, many of us are looking forward to some cooler weather and the Fall Migration.  In the meantime, many of our birds are still working overtime helping their young fatten up to prepare for their first long trip south.  Notable finds this week include a Buff-Breasted Sandpiper,  Semipalmated Plover, and a Spotted Sandpiper.

With the usual help from Jim Botta, we have put together another awesome collection of some of the best photos from the Long Island Wildlife Photography Group this week.  This week’s cover shot goes to Brian Doherty with a lob-tailing Humpback Whale.
