Despite what seems like an endless stretch of rainy days, the Long Island Wildlife Photography group still found some opportunities to capture some excellent local action in between the raindrops. As usual, a big thanks to Jim Botta for helping pick out the photos and to everyone contributing photos to the group!
One of the highlights this week is a Black Bellied Whistling Duck, captured beautifully on the cover shot by Patrick Horan. These ducks don’t typically stray far from Central and Southern America and in the U.S. they range usually just includes southern states like Florida, Louisiana, and Texas.
Enjoy the first official weekend of Summer and feel free to share!
