Last night’s storm was forecast well but because it wasn’t a named storm many, including me, were surprised by the flooding. While nothing like Sandy that hit exactly 5 years ago, the storm surge sank a number of boats at my local marina and flooded a few waterfront businesses. I can only vouch for what I witnessed but similar reports came in from all over the South Shore.

Last night I went out just before 10:00 p.m. and shot some cell phone video at Bellport Dock. Winds were gusting over 50 mph at this time according to the National Weather Service.
