For people who love extreme weather including ice and snow, this winter has been a bitter disappointment.  Despite the slow start, some forecasters are predicting a pattern change after this weekend’s storm and the coldest air of the season by Sunday night.  If you have never seen sea-smoke rising off the surface of the ocean, you may have a chance Monday morning.  If you don’t want to deal with single digit temperatures yourself, check out the Davis Park Surf cam right around sunrise.  If it happens I will post the video rewind or catch it myself.

On Wednesday morning there was some thin ice on Carmans River  leading into the bay.  I took a quick drone flight for some video and images over the ice.    On page 2 I have some shots of the outgoing tide rolling out over the ice and pushing up shards into the air.
