Save the Great South Bay and South Shore Paddleboards teamed up on Saturday to clean up Carll’s River in Babylon.

I was there to photograph Karen Marvin and a group of hearty paddleboarders as they departed Long Island Yacht Club around 8:00 a.m. and headed north up Carll’s River toward Argyle Lake.

As you will see on the last page, they were able to pull at least 50lbs of garbage out of this one small section of the River.

Later in the day, even larger groups fanned out and pulled out literally hundreds of pounds of garbage from the local waterways despite the overcast and rain.

Huge thanks to everyone that participated!
