For the next several nights, look to the West about 45 minutes after Sunset.

The Moon and Venus are always the brightest objects in the night sky so they will be visible first.

As the sky darkens, Saturn will appear to the right of Venus.

To the right of the planets the waxing crescent moon will be setting.

The Sunset images below were taken the evening of November 1st 2016 from the Fire Island National Seashore.

Note the Sun is now setting directly over Fire Island, in a few weeks the Sun will start setting directly over the Surf line creating some great photo opportunities.

The images on the second page were taken from Brookhaven over Bellport Bay.
