A day after Hurricane Nicole hit Bermuda and turned out to sea, long period swells showed up on Fire Island.
These were taken at Sunrise just west of Smith Point Beach in front of the Fire Island National Sea Shore vistor center.
On page 4 there is an interesting shot of the beach pavillion at Bellport Beach that looks perilously close to the Ocean, not a good situation before the Winter storm season.
