If you watch the Surf and Beach Cams that stream from the Davis Park Casino, you noticed very high tides since Sunday when winds out of the East coupled with new Moon tides brought the surf right up to the dune line during several high tide cycles. The video below was captured at high tide on Monday Morning.

The same conditions also brought bay side flooding to Ocean Beach to the west.

This area is very susceptible to flooding from the bay side and had several floods last Spring when we were hit with a number of Nor’easters.   Captain Mike Patrick sent me these photos taken early this afternoon with about 8 inches of water still standing around Bay Walk.

The water on the beach has since receded,  revealing a decent beach day whenever the fog lifts but Mike reports that the water on the bay side is not going out with the tide for now.
