The Fall and Winter months were not very kind to the Davis Park Marina.  A bruising late October storm did more damage to the marina then either Hurricane Irene or Super Storm Sandy.  Initial estimates by Brookhaven Town Officials put the price tag at over 2 Million dollars.

Click here for some video and images taken in November for a look at the initial damage.

Things didn’t get much better after a brutal freeze in January that caused the bay to freeze for almost three weeks, leading to further destruction and pulled poles.

While smaller crews have been working throughout the winter on repairing the marina, serious work began in mid March when  Terry Contracting brought in a  large barge- mounted crane and several work boats.  As you can see below in the images and short video, the perimeter of the marina is almost done and the ferry and tower docks have been stripped.

The Davis Park Ferry is now running a weekend schedule and docking in front of the Harbor Store while the Ferry Dock is repaired.  Check out their new website for the schedule.

You can watch the repairs in real-time on the marina cam, one of three cameras mounted on top of the Davis Park Casino.
