On Saturday, November 4th, a low pressure system passed our area and left clearing skies and strong winds out of the north in its wake.  I was checking out Bellport Dock and noticed some clearing to the Northwest as a deck of low clouds was racing offshore and set up a quick time-lapse.  This is the new 10 x hyperlapse mode on Go Pro 7 that does a nice job keeping the picture smooth.

I noticed some nice waves getting caught up in the offshore winds on the Davis Park Surf Cam so headed down to Smith Point for a closer look.  When I could see the spray over the dunes all the way to Old Inlet from the Bridge I knew this would be fun.  The gusts were now over 30 mph with some fantastic light, making a wild scene as the wind was ripping the sand off the beach and ripping the faces off  the waves.   The video below is in slow motion, the only way to keep the video even semi smooth.   I was only able to stay low for about a minute  because my equipment and I were getting sandblasted.
