The surf around Shinnecock Inlet seemed a little bigger than Smith Point Beach to the west on Sunday as the first Nor’easter of the season pulled away.  It appears that the surf went over the dunes and onto Dune Road in several spots, leaving a lot of standing water on the road as you can see in the Go Pro video below.  This is not uncommon in this area and Dune Road is very susceptible to flooding during high tides, particularly in the section just west of Ponquogue Bridge.  I will follow-up with some drone video for a better look.
