Davis Park, Water Island, and Ocean Ridge lost power between Wednesday and Thursday night but the Davis Park Casino Bar is open and the Casino Cafe Restaurant will be open tonight at 5:00 p.m. The surge blew up the surf cam but the marina and beach cams are still fine. The surf cam will be replaced ASAP.

The $3 million dollar reconstruction project to rebuild the Davis Park Marina officially ended this morning as the last crane pulled away from the Tower Dock.
Davis Park Marina serves residents of about 350 homes in Davis Park and neighboring Ocean Ridge, and thousands of summer visitors. The Davis Park Ferry company uses the main ferry dock which is now about twice as wide and can easily serve two ferries simultaneously.
The marina sustained massive damage during a fall storm on October 29th. The FireIslandandbeyond.com Marina cam stationed on top of the Davis Park Casino captured a lot of the damage, click here for some video and images taken during and after the storm.
The damage that resulted was actually worse than during Hurricane Sandy, requiring the entire infrastructure to be replaced including the water and electrical systems. All new lighting was also installed.
Fireislandandbeyond.com has covered the reconstruction at various stages, see below.
While the marina officially opened for the season around Memorial Day, the tower dock had more damage than originally thought resulting in several more months of work. The tower, used as headquarters for the marina staff, had to be taken off the dock and placed on a barge while the entire structure was stabilized and rebuilt.
The video above was taken last evening 8-2-18.
The Marina Cam captured the moments around 10:00 a.m. this morning as the last crane pulled away from the marina, and now offers a fresh look at the final product live all day.
