With the Spring Migration in full swing, all of Long Island’s shorebirds have returned and nests are full of both eggs and hatchlings.

I took a boat ride around the Eastern Great South Bay on Wednesday morning and ran into a wide variety of beautiful birds and some active Great and Snowy Egret nests.

Due to the sensitive nature of nesting birds, I can’t share specific locations.

I shot from distance with a 600 mm lens, cropped the images and don’t think the birds were disturbed by my short visit.

Images taken with a Nikon D750 and Sigma 150-600mm.
