Garlon Burgos received some tough news on March 1st when he was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. Garlon, the long time chef at Howard’s Cafe in Patchogue, has developed a huge network of friends between Patchogue, Davis Park and North Babylon where he lives now with his wife Linda and three young children- Holly, Lilly and Alex.
Garlon has built up a reputation as a guy that would do anything for you and now it is time to return the favor.
For those of you familiar with Davis Park, Garlon and his wife Linda started the well known Martini Party at the Harbor House in 1999- where the liquor was always free along with the hangovers!
Many friends were made over the years and all were welcome.
During his treatment, Garlon will not be able to work but fortunately the community is stepping up to lend some help.
With that in mind, two of Garlon’s long time friends, Bill Schatz and Tom Murphy (with the help of many others) have arranged a benefit this Sunday to raise money for this great family.
The Tap Room on Main St. in Patchogue will be hosting the Burgos Family Fundraiser Sunday between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m.
Ed Travers will be performing live along with a huge list of items donated by the community up for auction.
