The Long Island Wildlife Photography group had another stellar week, with an incredible variety of birds along with some mammals, reptiles and even crustaceans as you will see in the 50+ photos below.

This week the leaf cover really exploded so going forward it is going to get tougher to get a clean shot and good light on many of the targets.  Fortunately some of the members have a knack for finding and coming back with some incredible Warbler images while many others (like me) struggle with these fast little guys.

Notable finds this week include a Blue Grosbeak, Prairie Warbler, Baltimore Orioles, Wood Thrush, Brown Thrasher, Red-Headed Woodpecker, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, Magnolia Warbler, Black Throated Green Warbler, and Kingbird to name a few.

The Warbler migration seems to be continuing so if you have time try to get out there and see and hear some of these beauties for yourself!

This week’s cover goes to Vicki Jauron with a well captured Gosling taking a first dive into the water.  Vicki is one of my favorite wildlife photographers and was nice enough to put together a story and  gallery of her favorite Snowy Owl Images of the season that we will be publishing shortly.   I was just going through the images and they are some of the best I have ever seen.

Check out all 5 pages and have a great weekend!
