The Long Island Wildlife Photography Group continues to grow like a weed, adding another 5oo members so far this year!  While I have to title this weekly feature the “best of” it is actually just a fraction of what is posted.  I apologize if I missed your epic shot but It is tough to keep up with over 100 photos a day that continually cycle.

The calendar says we are still in mid winter but the birds are getting ready for Spring.  You will see several examples below of Bald Eagles flying around with nesting material.

Some of the notable finds this week include a Rough-Legged Hawk, Eurasion Wigeon, and several adult male Northern Harriers also knows as Grey Ghosts including the cover shot by Christopher Carl.  Northern Harriers were featured as a bird of the week last year, click here to learn more about these beautiful birds of prey.

If you have a few extra minutes, try to scroll through all 5 pages and 50 photos and have a great weekend!
